I have been working with children with special needs for over eight years. I am currently an instructional assistant working with children with autism. Before that, I have been a rehabilitation mental health therapist working with children in a residential care setting and a youth leader at a Boys and Girls club. I have learned from these children more than I have being in a classroom reading textbooks or the life I had before I met them because they have a place in my heart. I strive to fight for their rights when they can't and share what they feel. I am an advocate for children and will continue to be.
