I have worked with children on and off of the past 12 years. I have watched newborns (5-weeks-old )to 10-year-old children in an at home setting. For the past 3 years I have been working at a private school for special needs children.
For the past 3 years, I have been working at a private school for special needs children. The only reason I would leave my current job is because the commute is very long and costing me a lot of money each month. In my current job, I work with special needs children who are between the ages of 3-21 and have various levels of disability ranging from Mild Autism, ADD, ADHD, ED, Non Verbal Autistic, Downs Syndrome, and MD.
I primarily work in the aquatics department, where I am a Certified Life Guard, Certified in CPR/First Aid and a Certified Swim Instructor, (I have also been Certified as an EMT and volunteered on a first aid squad where I was trained to remain calm and focused in emergency situations.) When needed I also work in any of the 30 classrooms as a teachers assistant. I have a lot of patience, energy and compassion especially when it comes to working with children.

I have a brother that is 3 years younger than I and is mildly autistic. Over the years, I have become skilled in adapting the way I communicate to each child in a way that works for them. The reason I am passionate about working with children is because they are filled with energy, creativity and curiosity and I love exploring that with them.
