I am a Certified Teacher with emphasis in Early Childhood Education. Throughout my teaching career I spent most of the time in a classroom with both Gifted and Basic Skills children. I do not believe in making a child feel bad because they may learn at a different pace than another. In my classroom ever child is equal. Those who needed the extra help, received it without being singled out. But, they ALWAYS got the care they needed and reached their full potential. Although I have worked with grades Pre-K through 2nd Grade, through out my time spent as a Nanny, I have worked with children ages 2-13 years old. Although I do not have a Special Education degree, over the last year or so, I have worked with a family with two children with special needs. Whether it be severe ADHD, or speech issues, I was always able to bond with the children and get them to do always do their best. Every child learns differently because they are all individuals, and should be treated as such. Since the age of 14, as a camp counselor, I have always been very passionate about giving back to children who need it the most and I can honestly say that this is when I am the most happy. Teaching is an extremely important and rewarding profession.
