I started out working as a mentor, helping many teenagers cope with life, and being like a life coach to them. I mentored many teenagers that had special needs, ranging from autism, Down syndrome, depressive disorders, mental illness, and etc. I was also an intern for a year at the Department of Children and Families (DCF). Also, I have experience working with children. For many years I worked for Birth to Three; a company in which we cared for the special needs of children. I have experience working with the population who are in the autism spectrum. In Birth to three, not only did I work as an early intervention associate therapist, but I assisted physical, occupation, and speech therapists. I went into this field because I have family members with special needs. I guess that fuels my passion in helping and making a difference in my society. I'm very sensitive to the different needs out there and I have a passion for helping people. Even though I may not know everything, I strive everyday to learn more and more.
