There were two individuals in the home, so there was another co-worker who helped with the other individual. One of them had a colostomy bag and catheter, and the other one wore diapers. I would feed them, and I also administered medications. They were also bathed every night....

I have three years experience working with special needs patients. During that time, I worked with an elderly man who had special needs. There were two individuals in the home, so there was another co-worker who helped with the other individual. One of them had a colostomy bag and catheter, and the other one wore diapers. I would feed them, and I also administered medications. They were also bathed every night. We would also take them on outings like the mall. Laundry was also done at the beginning of the shift, and it was done at the end of the shift. There was a book that had to be written in every night to keep record of every activity that was done on the shift. I have also worked in the school system for a year with special needs students. I worked with students who had G-tubes. I also changed diapers. I worked with them hand over hand with a lot of activities, because they could not write on their own. I am very passionate about this, because my grandmother needed help when she became sick. I helped feed her and changed her diapers. I know that individuals who are special needs or elderly need help, because they are unable to do things on their own. I want to be able to help those who can't help themselves.
