I am a mother of three children, one 12 years old and 9-year-old twins. My children are older now and I find myself at home with nothing to do now. When my twins were born they were later diagnosed with major speech (respective & expressive delay). at first they thought to be Autism. I found this experience and also challenging. Making sure I was doing everything I could to find the resources that were out there for my children needs.
My children went through the Regional Center (language enriched preschools) until they were three and then over to the school district while always receiving Children Hospital in Pleasant on services, I always stayed there with them wanting to learn w/ them so I could hep them more. I would stay in the classes w/ them. Keeping these services was continuous battle with my insurance company and school districts. These battle came every four months when they would check them for their progress, sure they aware progressing BUT they still needed services. When my children were three the tested at 15 months. There is a lot of hurt that goes with this that parents go through I now I been there. Now I have time on my hands, my children are all main streamed in to regular school (at the age of 5, K ) Wow! they worked hard. I would like to make some extra money, so I find myself looking for a hourly paid job. I would really like to work with mothers that are in need of help. I now I am good at it .
