I have my Elementary Education Degree from Malone College, as well as my Early Childhood endorsement. I have worked with infants, toddlers, preschoolers and school aged children for 24 years as a teacher as well as a program director with responsibilities for running the day to day operations of a child care center. I am very involved currently in my community with children with autism disorders and do respite care for a family with two autistic children. I have integrated special needs children into my child care program and have been so touched by the way the children interact with one another and are so accepting of children that aren't just exactly the same as they are, whether it be lack of speech, repetition in action and words, etc. I have worked in a community where the amount of children on the autism spectrum is one of the highest in the state of Michigan. I am passionate about learning more about each child that crosses my path and continue to take trainings and college sponsored CEU renewal classes in Special Education to keep myself up to date on the latest techniques.
