My name is Kendra and I have been working in the special needs community for over 20 years working with infants to seniors. I have worked for the City of Fremont running and implementing a year round after school program called Horizon. This is a program for the developmentally disabled ages 7 to 22 years old with mental and physical disabilities. I am currently working for Fremont Unified School District has a Para Professional in the Special Ed for 12 years. We assist the teacher in teaching the students life skills, off campus community based field trips, and daily living skills, changing and feeding etc. I also have worked in the respite care field for many years. I have worked with wheelchair bound kids, Autism, cerebral palsy, and using medical procedures for severally medically fragile clients. I am very passionate working with this community. I bring a contagious attitude and energy to the clients and working with each one has changed my life. I have learned from them that life might be a struggle but they never give up and always have great attitudes.
