I have varied experience caring for children with all different needs: prematurity, asthma, heart problems, and food allergies are issues that my own children have had. I have been a teacher in many different settings for 20 years (including a residential treatment center, after-school care admin, early intervention, language delays, sensory issues, preschool administrator and teacher, and currently part-time family home child care and part-time care for a boy with cerebral palsy and a seizure disorder). I am passionate about how important quality child care is for all! When I was a 10-year-old child, I started working part-time in the summers with special needs kids, in a school setting, with my speech pathologist father. Thirty years later, I still love teaching!
