Hello all! My name is Kate. I am a 24-year-old student and have lots of experience working with children with a variety of special needs. I have worked with a non-profit company in Maryland for over 5 years. I work in home shifts, respites, summer camp as well as a day care setting after school program for children with special needs. I have been faced with many challenging situations and always remained calm and made sure the children were always in great care. I have seen these children accomplish so many great things. I am certified in CPR-adult, child and infant; BPS trained (Behavior Principal Strategies), trained in abuse and neglect, transportation trained as well as have all my criminal clearances. I have flexible hours as of now. I have worked with some of the same children for as many as two and half years. My past experiences include children with Autism, Down Syndrome, rare genetic disorders, emotionally disturbed children and traumatic brain injuries. I have a passion working with the special needs population and am currently working on a career as an Occupational Therapist Assistant.
