I began working with children and adolescents with learning and developmental disabilities while studying psychology at Michigan State University. Upon graduation, I began working at a residential school near Asheville, NC for adolescents mainly who were diagnosed with autism, Aspergers, ADHD, PDD, and other LDs. My responsibilities as a direct care staff included providing social, emotional, and academic support to students. Planning and executing experiential learning activities including community service, after school clubs and wilderness adventures to enhance learning of life skills. I assisted with teaching and lesson planning in classrooms and administered medications.

These certifications have recently expired due to leaving my previous place of employment, however very willing to reestablish certifications if necessary. Wilderness First Aid, Lifeguard, NCI, CPI, Residential Child and Youth Care Professional.
