It was not that I did not give notice Todd S. gave me a choice. The past week I worked for him was a very bad week for me and he knew that. I was off Monday and Tuesday and then I worked Wednesday 9 hours and Thursday I had to have 2 procedures done in the hospital and he had me work Friday 11 hours which was extremely hard for me after having those procedures done but I worked the 11 hours anyway. Also my uncle had passed in Maryland and I was unable to attend the funeral because of my job. Todd S. waited until I worked a week and then started to give me what he called was orientation but in reality it was his rules and regulations. Not only was I to care for his Mom I was to keep the granite counter tops cleaned at all times and keep the guest bathroom and common areas cleaned. The common areas I had no problem with. Also when the dishwasher was 3/4 full I had to run it and then empty it when the cycle was done. In other words he wanted 1/2 caregiver and 1/2 housekeeper. He did not specify when he hired me about all the chores he only told me about caring for his Mom. However, he also wanted the laundry done and to make sure all trash was taken outside. With all of this being said I am a "faithful" caregiver to anyone with Alzheimer's disease because I have done it many times before now. The problem that I see most with Todd S. was he did his so called orientation a week after I had worked whereas I feel it should have been done in the beginning of the job like any other job would do. I feel this rating he gave me is so totally unfair when I did indeed do everything he wanted to be done. I was a full-time caregiver to a 92 year old man in his home that had no family and he had Alzheimer's disease. I worked Monday through Friday from 8am-8pm and I cooked and cleaned his house did all the grocery shopping and laundry as well. But I brought home double in my pay opposed to what Todd S. wants to pay for a caregiver/housekeeper. My schedule was going to be M-T-W-OFF AND THURSDAY WORK 7 HOURS AND FRIDAY, SATURDAY AND SUNDAY work 11 hours each day to make 40 hours per week. I feel the 11 hours per day for 3 days is too much for anyone. When I had my talk to Todd S. on Saturday about leaving that's when he gave me a choice. To come home and rest the rest of the day on Saturday and Sunday and he called me on Sunday and I told him I just could not do it. He told me he had 2 back-ups but I see his ad is back in Care.com. I loved his Mom regardless of the sickness.
