In the churches where my Dad was a pastor, I became the unofficial supervisor of the children. I was a Sabbath School teacher, and children's education director for the church in Portland. I started, organized, promoted an annual children's talent show, and many activities for the children.
Children are drawn to me, and I often find myself supervising, interacting with, and entertaining the children around me. I have 50 some cousins, many of them younger than me.
I have worked as a mentor, and a Tutor for many children.
I have been a para educator in several different school districts. I have a special bond with many of the children I worked with.
I worked for Vancouver Parks and Recreation as an inclusion mentor, with special needs children. Many of the children in the programs were drawn to me. My supervisor got many calls from parents commending me for the way I worked with their children, including parents of children I was not directly responsible for. I researched, wrote, and taught the first class for the children in parks and recreation, to assist them in understanding, helping, and interacting with children with disabilities.
I work as a respite care provider.
