I have taken care of special needs adults/children for over 18 years. I started out as a feeder for a special school district and moved into the teaching field as a teacher's assistant. I love working with special needs individuals because when I have seen progress in their abilities for the better, it shows me that my love for them and undivided attention has helped them get better. I have been caring for special needs adults/children for over 18 years. I just love seeing the changes that they make with some guidance. I know it is very important to work on IEP goals all year round, especially during the summer. I work out of my own house and have a lot of activities that we can do over the course of the day, such activities are bike riding, painting, Play-doh, play Candyland, Don't Break the Ice, etc. I have a lot more activities to choose from. I have taken CPR classes. I also took a class on passing out medications. References and resume available upon request.

Due to the distance, Joan was not able to accept the position and I never got to meet her in person but she seemed genuinely eager to be able to help us. However, we did talk by phone for a while in which she seemed very pleasant and truly enjoys working with all different type special needs. We are sure that she would be a good person to work with anyone needing help with a special needs child or teen. We wish her the best.

Joan worked with my son who has Down syndrome and she did an excellent job. She gave him opportunities to get outside, they visited the community center, and some socializing. She spent time working with him on class work and challenging him on life skill needs. Thank you Joan, I look forward to working with you in the future.
