In the past I have worked with children and adults with special needs. I have a child who has severe ADHD, mild OCD, mild bipolar, and dyslexia. I have taken classes for behavior modification techniques, American Sign Language, and college courses for paraprofessional special education. My goal is to become a special education teacher. Having a child with special needs, and having to become his advocate and teacher has sparked my love for helping children with special needs. I have been a substitute teacher for approximately 6 years. I have also taught art to adults with special needs many years ago. When my children were babies I ran a home daycare to earn extra income while being a stay at home mom. The first 2 children I took care of are now grown and came to me to take care of their babies. For the past 20 years I have been taking care of children and adults and have loved every moment. The last person I cared for was an elderly woman with Alzheimer's disease, which I have cared for nearly 2 1/2 years.
