I volunteered for 3 years at a summer school for children with autism. I was then hired and have been employed for 2 years. I primarily work with children ages 3-7. The children range from mild ASD to completely non-verbal students. I am now majoring in Special Education with a focus in autism studies. I truly love my job. Although there may be struggles, the children always find a way to melt my heart, and their smiles can always brighten up a room.

I also have an uncle who is deaf/blind so I know some sign language (the alphabet and basic words). This has become extremely beneficial, especially when working with non-verbal children.
