As a recent graduate of university, I spent my 4 years earning my Bachelors of Arts Degree in Psychology (with an emphasis in Human Sexuality which concentrated on health & behaviors in diverse populations). My education provided me with the knowledge of the variation of human beings and how to analyze, interact and manage those with different behaviors. I gained great experience working with children with behavioral, social and neurological differences at Campy Ramapo for children last summer. I worked there for 2 months, and received extensive training in how to mainstream children with various needs (from high functioning to low functioning Autism, to down syndrome, bipolar disorder and even attachment issues). I attended seminars in therapeutic behavioral management training geared towards working with children with such needs. I not only was a bunk counselor in charge of 15 girls, but also was the camp's Specialty Cooking & Nutrition counselor. I developed a cooking curriculum and used cooking/nutrition as a method to develop the children's social and mental skills. I love working with children with special needs and hope to make a difference in your child's life!
