Other Qualifications, Certifications and Credentials
I used to be certified in CPR (Infant/Child/Adult) and First Aid. However, when I ended up in a field that did not require that for so long, I let it lapse. I'm ready and willing to renew if necessary.

I have worked with both special needs children and adults. When I was younger, I cared for a 5yr old boy with Autism for 6-8 months. As a Home Health Aide, I have worked with quite a few different disabilities and/or physical ailments. What I haven't worked with, I am willing to learn about in order to care for an individual. I enjoy caring for people because I believe everyone deserves to have the best quality of life possible. Everyone needs care and attention and if I am given the opportunity I will provide the best I'm capable of. From the time I was 16-21 years old, I was a Home Health Aide for various companies. My duties ranged from a companion to full hands-on care.
Outside of that, I have had several nanny positions where I have had to care for children with special needs; from hearing or eyesight trouble to Autism, Alzheimer's and Dementia, to a variety of mental health issues.
*With limited exceptions (such as casual babysitters) virtually all caregiver jobs are subject to federal, state and local (where applicable) minimum wage laws. Families are responsible as household employers for complying with all applicable minimum wage laws, plus payroll, tax and other labor laws regarding employment of care providers.
