I was recently the nanny for a preschooler with Prader Willi Syndrome. I also helped out a gentleman with Muscular Dystrophy part time for a couple years. Other than that, my experience working with people with special needs has been unpaid. However, I did grow up with parents who were special education teachers who kept us involved with their students and raised us to be very open minded and caring. I have an uncle with Down syndrome that I spent a great deal of time with growing up and continue too. However he now has developed Alzheimer's disease and I have had 3 clients with Alzheimer's as well. My experience with ADD and ADHD is with my brother, niece and nephew. One has ADD and the other has ADHD. So I know all the ins and outs of living with ADD and ADHD.
