My younger sister was born with a muscle disease that the doctors did not have a name for initially. Not until she was 13, did the doctors finally diagnose her with autism. I was one of her main caregivers while she grew up because dealing with her struggles was natural for me. I have been blessed with patience for children with disabilities and really enjoy being around special needs kids. I have also was a nanny for my cousin who has a daughter with a rare metabolic disorder which caused severe brain damage. Among those personal experiences, I have also worked with all different types of disabilities within my other child care experience.
