I work for the Montgomery County Intermediate Unit where I've had experience as a teacher's aide and one-on-one with different children. Most of the population has autism, many of them have emotional and behavioral issues. My experience has also included assisting in classrooms where students have multiple physical handicaps. I have also worked one-on-one with children who have behavior difficulties.
During the end of my 94-year-old great grandmother's life, I lived with her and my grandmother as we cared for her when she became bed ridden with a broken hip and shattered knee. Once my grandmother entered her late eighties, I spent many hours tending to her needs and comforting her. Children and adults who are different from the average population have a special place in my heart. I've been blessed with patience, a good listening ear, and gentleness. I believe everyone needs to be loved.
