I am new to Care.com and am building my profile now. I have recently been laid off of my job of 8 1/2 years working with a family law attorney in West Palm Beach who is now retiring. I have been a resident of Jupiter Farms for 9 years. I do not have any children of my own, except two beagles (Tessa and Charlie), but I do love children. After my mom passed away I had experience raising my sister from the ages of 14 to 18 (who had very special needs). I won't say it wasn't difficult, because it was... extremely... but I tried my best to give her all the love and care she needed and finally was able to get her into a great school specially suited to her needs. I have always loved children and can never resist interacting with them when I come across them. I was a babysitter in my younger years but am 44 now and have been employed in the legal field for over 20 years. I now want to try something different, caring for others, whether it be animals, children, persons rehabilitating or our elders. Whenever I have been in a hospital visiting someone I can never seem to resist the urge to also help those staying in the room with them. (I always seem to anticipate what others need and reach out to help.) I also took care of my mother who was very ill with cancer and taking care of my sister was no easy task but I persevered. There are many people who know me who can attest to that. I will be listing some of these wonderful people in my references section. I hope you give me the opportunity to show you that I can do a job very well done, that I am very consciousness and intelligent and I will care for your loved ones in a way that will make you feel very well at ease. It will help me also to finally get away from the computer keyboard and interact in a meaningful way with others and assist them with whatever difficulties they are having or just to provide much needed respite to caretakers themselves. I know what it means to need a break sometimes... I too turned to others for that much needed and well-deserved time off. Time to ourselves to rejuvenate is so important and I would like to be the person that can help provide that respite for you. Please call me even just to chat, get to know me and see if I am the right person for the job. I believe there is a very good chance I am.
