I am recently married and new to this area. I am previously from Ocean County where I grew up. After high school, I had many years of experience with children of all ages in day care, summer program, and before/after school care settings. I have also had the opportunity to babysit in client's homes for various age ranges after that. In addition to caring for children, I have also had the opportunity to work with the developmentally disabled community, which ranged in ages from 12 to in the 70s! This care could range anywhere from extremely supervised where the client needs one on one assistance for all aspects of daily life (dressing, cooking, hygiene), to simply checking in on them or driving them to an appointment. I have had the opportunity to work with many age ranges in this field as well. In the field of developmental disabilities, I have also had experience with diabetes care, seizure first aid, Epi-Pen administration, and medication administration. This field has also exposed me to many special needs ranging from cerebral palsy to Asperger's Syndrome. I also have a basic understanding of American Sign Language, and while I can mostly finger spell, I am still able to communicate with most individuals.

I have grown up with dogs and all sorts of small animals my whole life. I even spent quite some time volunteering at a local nature center where we cared for snakes, turtles and fish. My husband and I currently have a rescue dog who is a 3-year-old Chihuahua mix who happens to think he's triple his size. We are currently working on a training program with him to adjust his behavioral issues. I am comfortable with most animals, and would be willing to learn to care for almost any!

I greatly value reading and music. Music plays a big role in my life, and I also greatly enjoy singing. Reading is an invaluable resource and skill that no one can ever take from you. It is my hope that my future children, and the children I care for, would get to know and love reading and music as well.

I enjoy being outside, and finding free and different activities to take part in.. and in this area, there are many! I am also open to any new ideas or suggestions, especially being new to this area, and spring being right around the corner!
