I have a 22-year-old cousin with Down syndrome who I spend a lot of time with. Our families are very close and she's more of a sister to me than a cousin. I also have a 7-year-old autistic cousin who has a twin with no special needs. I've babysat them a lot. I understand what it's like to have to care for a child with special needs and one without. I have substituted in many Rockford BAC classrooms, which stands for Before and After Care, with special needs children. I'm going to school to become a special education teacher. I'm currently at Grand Rapids Community College getting my general education covered; After two years, I'll be going to Central Michigan University.
