My 20+ teaching and special needs supervisory experience began in 1992 and continues today. I taught pre-kindergarten through middle school special needs students. As the disabilities mental health specialist for Head Start, I provided teachers with various ideas and techniques that often prevented the need for further consideration of special needs services. I believe that many children become labeled and I am passionate about working with individuals who lack the ability to function in a large setting, require patience, understanding and structure in order to balance out their needs. I do what I do because there are many children who are surrounded by individuals that lack the training to asset those who need a little more help.
