As a social worker licensed by the state of South Carolina, I have 10 year's experience working with special needs people. The main thrust of my work was in the area of socialization which included group interactions, one-on-one meetings, accompanying on field trips to public attractions, church attendance, assisting the higher level folks with activities of daily living including simple food prep, choosing appropriate clothing for activities, budgeting if employed, housekeeping skills, personal hygiene. When appropriate, I tutored in skills such as math, language, reading, simple computer usage, I so enjoyed this work. Progress and a smile when mastery of a task was made are my rewards.
