I have worked close to two years at a private daycare one on one with a 2-year-old girl with Down syndrome and a 5-year-old boy with a sensory disorder. I have also worked close to 2 years at the YMCA in southern Indiana in the special needs department. I have worked one on one and in a group setting with children aging from 6 years to 18 years old with a variety of diagnoses from ADHD, autism, Down syndrome, full blindness, behavioral and sensory disorders. I'm experienced and comfortable with maintaining personal hygiene and I'm also CPR certified. I'm currently going to nursing school in hopes of becoming an occupational/developmental therapist for young children with special needs. I would truly say interacting and helping children with special needs grow and develop is my passion and calling in life. I am energetic, responsible and can definitely roll with the punches!
