I am the Mother of two grown daughters, who were both born with congenital cataracts. I have personal experience of knowing what it is like to a child with special needs as a result. But then, before I had my own children, I worked in the licensed facility my Aunt owned and operated for special needs children all through High School while growing up. I have experience with Autism, Asperger's, Charge syndrome, Down Syndrome, Mental Retardation and various physical problems. I have experience feeding through g-tubes, suctioning trach tubes, putting children in special adaptive devices, chairs and braces, and many other issues that come up when you care for a special needs child. I am very calm - poop, snot, vomit, etc. does not bother me. I have a special spot in my heart for children that need a little extra help, and know how to encourage and provide a atmosphere of acceptance and as much independence that any given child needs to feel as if they can do it. I fought hard for my children in school and as a result after their eye surgeries and they were fitted for glasses they were mainstreamed into regular classes. They has some adaptive measures that were needed, but they excelled in school and today one is a Forensic Anthropologist and the other a veterinarian. I don't like being told no just because someone doesn't know how to give me a yes! I will fight for your child too!

Registered Medical Assistant, Certified Health Care Provider CPR and First Aid, Member of the NAFCC, Certified by the FAA to provide flight physical on airline pilots, Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education, Hospice Training and Hospice Provider
