I'm a Christian on-call sitter that offers last minute, same day help to families in the N Ft Worth area. That means that once we've met in person and decided to work together, parents can send a text with a maximum of 2 hrs notice on the day that my help is needed. Parents that are flexible and can just go with the flow take their chances that I'll be available and use me as their regular sitter, parents that are more schedule-oriented use me as a backup, regular sitters can use me as a substitute to fill in for them. Anyone can use this service, they just use it in different ways. My care takes place in the family's home where everything the child needs is located and where they are most comfortable. I know that children like consistency and to get used to a sitter. The children in my families see me regularly. I know it kind of sounds like they will see me once and that is it. That isn't how it works out and the kids & I have become attached. I'm always recruiting new families to keep variety and a full schedule, not because I have an incredibly high turn-around. When you think 'on-call' please think of a doctor. You wouldn't call a doctor days ahead of time and tell him/her that you were planning to injure yourself and set up a time. (I know that others use the term in a different way for sitting, but this is a good way to explain how my services work.)
