I have an almost 18-year-old son with ADHD and Asperger's. I worked for five years part-time at a pediatric behavioral health facility. I taught in public schools for 14 years. The subjects were Art, Drama, Technical Theater, and Biology. I still have teacher certification from the State of Oklahoma. I coached youth basketball for two years, I coached Cheer-leading for one year. I coached Swimming for one year. I was a Character Counts club sponsor for a year. I was Art Club Sponsor for two years. I volunteered at a pilot Autism summer program in Tulsa seven years ago. Three years ago I taught private Art lessons for the summer to five different Autistic students. I have worked with Children from preschool through high school. I would like to be considered for the opportunity to care for, tutor, or home school children with special needs. I understand the challenges faced by both the parents and the children. I also believe that finding the strengths in the child makes a world of difference in their progress, happiness, and success. I also have experience with multi-handicapped individuals.
