I have 13+ years of professional experience caring for the elderly, mainly dementia/Alzheimer's, as well as wide variety of other conditions. I also have 7+ years of professional experience caring for individuals with developmental disabilities and/or mental health disorders, as well as a history of sexual offenses. My experience covers institutional settings, residential/group home settings, and private in-home health care. I have worked for agencies but tend to lean towards working as a private caregiver due to my inability to work for companies that have lower standards of care than I believe anybody should ever be exposed to! I can honestly say that I am one of the best caregivers available. Aside from the 13 years of professional experience, I have 27 years of hands-on experience caring for my sister who is developmentally disabled. My personal and my professional experience is what makes me one of the "best caregivers available." I treat every single individual I have ever cared for as if they were my family, and give them no less care that what I require for my sister and/or anyone that I love. I am dedicated to this profession because I love what I do. I love to make a difference in other people's lives because ultimately it makes me a stronger and more caring individual and consequentially they end up helping me to become the person I am. The difference between myself and other workers in this field is that my paycheck isn't what inspires me to go to work.
