I enjoy discovering the world with children and looking at it through their eyes. I took courses in human services/education in college. I've worked at a residence for boys with emotional difficulties. I have also worked in day cares with toddlers and infants. I have three children of my own, ages 28, 26, and 24. One of my sons has Asperger's syndrome, so he was a great challenge and mentor. He taught me patience, kindness, acceptance, fortitude and to keep my sense of humor. I also volunteered with Respite Cares, an organization that provides care for children with special needs so that parents can have a break. I was a parent representative for the Committee on Special Education, so I am familiar with many disabilities.
I worked in a public school as a paraprofessional in fourth and fifth grade, assisting students with multiple educational and emotional difficulties. I am energetic, healthy and joyful.
