When my father became too ill to care for himself I jumped in to help him 24/7 for two years; which included bathing, dressing, food preparation and feeding, meds, physical therapy, household & secretarial duties. Since then I realized my passion was to be of service to those in need of my direct help and focused on caregiving. For example, with Dr. W. who has advanced MS, can not walk and has limited use of one arm/hand... and, Mr. C. who suffers from advanced Alzheimer's and cannot do anything for himself... and, a 16-year-old who is retarded and disabled with the capacity of a 10-month-old child. Serving people who need help, with patience and love, gives me great happiness.
