Catherine D. - Seattle Special Needs Caregiver

Profile of Catherine D.

Full-Time, 1 Year of Experience

Warm Greetings!

My name is Catherine and I am a recent graduate of the University of Washington with a bachelors of science in speech and hearing: communication disorders.

I have strong interests in working with children with developmental, language and cognitive delays and disorders so as to help them communicate and function to the fullest, and thus, help awaken their true potential. Essentially, I want to do my part in enhancing the lives of these children. I am also interested in working with children with these unique types of cognitions so as to boost my learning and acquire more skills within the field of child development. I'm very interested in becoming a speech therapy assistant (SPLA), an ABA therapist or behavioral specialist, a teacher's assistant, or any sort of position where I get to work with these kids.

Other than my fascination with human development and learning, these aforementioned interests of mine undoubtedly stem from the joy I've had in the past working with, volunteering alongside, clinically-observing, and being the "big sister" of children.

Anyway, as far as personal traits are concerned, I am a very responsible, motivated, and trustworthy individual. I have a strong work ethic and am passionate about helping people from all backgrounds. I am positive, upbeat, sociable and polite, and can work just as well by myself as I can with others. I can also work under stressful conditions with ease. I am always looking for new skills and abilities to learn and love being challenged (and succeeding). I am highly trainable and am enthusiastically looking to work with children in a variety of settings whether in the school system, at a private clinic, or for a household.
