During my time as an undergraduate student, I worked with students with special needs from age 3-21. During some summers, I was a paraprofessional in a special needs classroom (elementary and high school up to age 21). During the school year, I was an In-Home Respite Care Provider for students with special needs ages 3-17. Also, I was the Vice President of our university's chapter of the Council for Exceptional Children, where we participated in various volunteer events supporting students with special needs. Once I received my degree, I was a teacher in a school that included special needs learners in the general ed classroom, and I worked towards making appropriate accommodations for my students.
