Hello. I retired in May, 2008, from teaching 30 years of special education. Although I retired from formal teaching in a school setting, I plan to work with persons with disabilities for many years to come. I have a master's degree, plus 30 hours in Special Education. I am Missouri certified K-12 for life. I have BD/LD/SH/MR certifications. I have tutored middle school to kindergarten, in all subjects. I am a community integration companion, integrating functional academics, social skills, community and job awareness and
exploration, safety, budgeting money, ordering from restaurants, shopping, entertainment (bowling, movies, fitness centers), and possible volunteering in community with my supervision.
I have basic computer skills, and am skilled in applications, job preparedness, and portfolios. I teach independent living skills, such as cooking, cleaning, and time management. I will work in your home or mine. I teach grooming and hygiene skills, in your home. I can assist with transportation to and from work (if adult works).

I am familiar with Regional Center, DVR, Mers, Life Skills, Arc, Paraquad, etc.

I could work with two or more companions, if social skills and social interaction and activities is what the person desires.

I will customize my expertise to meet your needs.
