I have been working as an aid in a special needs classroom for almost two years now. I work one on one with a nonverbal child with autism. He also has a behavior plan that I have had to implement, due to that I was also required to take a management of abusive behavior class. Along with that student I also worked with the rest of the students. There was a plethora of disabilities from autism to Down's. I not only led groups both educational and social, but I took care of the students' personal needs such as diaper changing. I am very passionate about what I do and plan to be a special education teacher when I am finished with school. Nothing else could make life more fulfilling.
