Clare M. - Portland Special Needs Caregiver

Profile of Clare M.

Full-Time, 4 Years of Experience

I recently graduated from Western Michigan University with a degree in special education. During the three year program, I was placed in four pre-internships in classrooms of students with special needs. I also did my student teaching in a resource room working with first and second graders who were in special education. I have had experience in elementary, middle, and high school. I also worked at a school for students who were severely cognitively impaired. I was a part-time aide for four years working with children from the ages of 2 1/2- 9-year-olds. I really enjoy working with students who have disabilities because they are fun and loving individuals just like other children, but have a few other challenges to work with. Children always keep me smiling and there is always something going on, which is what I like.
Related Hobbies and Interests
I enjoy swimming, being outside, movies, and volunteering to help others. I am usually up for anything. I am an outgoing, caring, loving, and patient person.
