Sharita P. - Orlando Special Needs Caregiver

Profile of Sharita P.

Full-Time, 0 Years of Experience

My Great-grand mother(God rest her soul) had a stroke, so she needed to be feed through her machine, mouth cleaned out, hair done (So she can look pretty everyday), bathe, reposition (so she didn't get sores). She loved hearing music, being talked to, watching my daughter and niece dance, make her pictures, put her in the chair so go outside sometimes to see out. All through school I always partnered with child or some my age with Down Syndrome. They always loved me reading to them, drawing pictures, going outside to play, but I also help them in there studies, visit them if parents allowed or take them out to movie, or just for a walk to be out in the world. Family friend son had ADHD and daughter with ADD, so I had to always be on my feet doing something so they could calm down, meaning always doing something new, but try to put focus one thing without medication, if couldn't give medicine and keep them focused. With them all, I talked with them, anything that seemed to be interesting I did, help with studies, if sick I took care of them if in or out of school, home, or away
