For the past 3 1/2 years I have worked for the Anoka-Hennepin School District as a Special Education Para Educator. I have also worked as a PCA and nanny in that time. I really enjoy working kids with special needs because it is extremely rewarding. These kids need to work harder to learn things that come easier to kids without special needs. I love seeing how excited they get when they finally learn something they've been working hard to accomplish. Because of the wide variety of kids with special needs I've worked with, I have learned a large variety of techniques to use to help kids learn academic skills as well as how to demonstrate positive behaviors with their peers and adults.
