I have been a special education teacher in Minneapolis Public Schools for the past six years. I worked two years as a teacher of children with Emotional/Behavior Disorders (EBD) and mental illness. The past four years, I have been working as a teacher of children with Autism. I have my regular education teaching license as well as my special education license and Master's. I also worked as a special education assistant teacher for one year in Wisconsin while I was in college getting my undergraduate degree where I worked with children with multiple disabilities. In addition, I worked one summer in a YMCA day camp in Minneapolis where my primary duties were to provide care for a boy who had Down Syndrome.
