I spent two years as the child care coordinator for a family violence shelter where I came into contact with a variety of special needs children ranging from ADD to ADHD to high functioning Aspergers. Meaningfully interacting with those children was the highlight of my job, and I went to work everyday looking forward to both challenges as well as the satisfaction of leaving a happy child at the end of the day. In that capacity I have organized field trips, play therapy, and other crafts and games.
