Carmen A. L. - Houston Special Needs Caregiver

Profile of Carmen A. L.

Part-Time, 10 + Years of Experience

Since I believe that the largest room in the world is the "room for improvement," I've always looked for opportunities to improve in my administering care for others and one of those ways that I hold dear to my heart, which has helped me to "improve" is in caring for those with special needs. Those with special needs have their own unique way of drawing out the best in you that lends itself toward developing an awareness of what they want and need from you in order for them to enjoy a measure of normalcy in their life. During the process, you can add to your repertoire (collection) of experience that will definitely enhance your ability to "improve" your skills in working with those with special needs. This, I believe, is the beauty of caring for those with special needs. Don't take my word for it, read the book or watch the movie of "The Life of Helen Keller," and then you'll get a glimpse of what I mean about the special feeling you develop in caring for those with special needs. Warning: Only for those with a sensitive heart toward those whose needs are special!
Related Hobbies and Interests
I've enjoyed caring for those with special needs who suffer from various maladies. I also enjoy reading, gardening and working with those who have been victims of natural disasters such as tropical storm Allison and hurricanes, Katrina, Rita and Ike.
