Barbara N. - Exeter Special Needs Caregiver

Profile of Barbara N.

Full-Time, 10 + Years of Experience

I have been a child and family therapist for the past 25 years and have returned back to Graduate school this fall to get my licensure. I am particularly passionate about younger children in the age range between 9-13 as this is the age that is crucial to develop strengths through natural interests and abilities. I believe ADHD can be manged the best by keeping the child in physical activities daily, going with his energy rather than trying to squash his spirit by teaching him how to sit still. I love doing hands on projects with children and am also aware that each child has their own individual learning style which needs to be identified in order for the child to fully integrate the information being received.
Related Hobbies and Interests
I enjoy many venues of art including painting, coloring, drawing, clay, knitting and jewelry making. Hikes and bike rides. Collecting pieces of nature. Scavenger hunts. Yoga, cognitive behavioral therpy.
