Carrie C. - Etna Special Needs Caregiver

Profile of Carrie C.

Full-Time, 4 Years of Experience

My name is Carrie and I am currently living in Portland but am moving closer to my family (closer up your way) in the weeks to come. I work part time as a life coach for adults with mental retardation (over two years now). I have a college degree from USM and have cared for children (newborn-14 years) for 10 years now through nanny agencies, in a school setting, and as a mother's helper. I am CPR and First Aid certified, a trained direct support professional, provide a loving, safe, and stimulating level of care, experienced in overnight care, personal care, running errands, housekeeping, etc. I enjoy working with children and families as I find it to be a positive, encouraging environment to be in. I would like to get to know you and your child in the upcoming weeks (if you are interested). I find it beneficial to do. It's important to have an open, two -way communicative relationship. Also it's necessary to have the two parties discuss child care philosophies and it is necessary that the nanny works with the parent/s as a team. The nanny should honor the way the parent/s raise their child and conduct care accordingly.(that way there is stability for the child, allowing the child a relaxed and assured environment as much as possible). It also gives child and nanny a chance to bond, minimizes stress and worry for the parent/s and child, and strengthens the commitment for a long-term commitment from a dedicated, compassionate nanny. As for my availability to meet, I am flexible most days Thursday-Saturday (but can also make arrangements on other days if that works best for you). I hope to hear from you soon! Take Care, Carrie
