Sarah L. - Dickinson Special Needs Caregiver

Profile of Sarah L.

Full-Time, 3 Years of Experience

I have a lot of work experience in the field of people with special needs. I have worked for two different agencies up north (NY and PA), taking care of the elders with developmental disabilities. Both jobs required me to administer medications and help with daily tasks like hygiene and grooming. I worked as a support specialist, and in being one, I was there to attend to any needs the individuals had. I am extremely passionate about my jobs. I loved both jobs and was reluctant to leave my positions when I moved down south. To me, being able to help these individuals and just to see the smiles on their faces when you do something that can seems so small to you, but means a great deal to them, is worth it. Doing things as simple as helping them accomplish a task, going for a walk, and doing some arts and crafts is just wonderful. It is wonderful to know that I am making a difference in their lives, no matter how small the difference may be.
Related Hobbies and Interests
I enjoy arts and crafts and playing all sort of games, like cards games. I enjoying spending time with people and conversing with them. I enjoy cooking and baking. I am very open to any thing new.
