I adore my work and the children's lives I make a difference in. I currently have been tending to four children with special needs, eight children total, Monday through Friday. I was a full-time nanny for a family of five children, who are moving out of state in November. The 13-year-old has multiple issues; CP, epilepsy, fed through a g-tube, and incontinence. My day begins with greeting him and his face lighting up. I then go fill seven syringes full of medicines and put them through his extension tube that goes to the g-button. I bathe and dress him too. Therapies are all in-home, and I assist with all of them. In addition to all of this, I have the 4-year-old at my side, me spinning him, playing with him all while I care for the 13-year-old. After therapies, I teach art and PE, in the morning. Two of the five children, ages 8 and 11, are in home school with mom. I make them all lunch and snacks. I do light housekeeping throughout the day while caring for all five children. I love my job more than anything and truly love these kids. On Saturdays, I care for two children, ages 9 and 11, with Asperger's syndrome. On Sundays and weekdays after school, I care for an energetic little 6-year-old with severe autism, ADHD, and he is blind/deaf with the aide of a cochlear implant, (I no longer hold any of these patients as needed, while I search for one full-time family)!
