Jennifer D. - Clayton Special Needs Caregiver

Profile of Jennifer D.

Part-Time, 6 Years of Experience

I specialize in working with children with autism. The youngest child I have ever worked with was 8 years old. I have been working in this field for a little over six years. I have worked for Little Star School, LEL, have been with Cornerstone Associates with the same client for over four years, and I am currently working at Damar services. I would like to get a job more flexible, and better than at Damar. I am certified to do ABLLS therapy, and I know how to do ABA, as well as the VB-MAPP. I have worked with Carl Sundberg, and one of his associates closely on a program currently still being used with my other client. I have a certification in writing up behavior plans as well. I love to do this job, because helping kids and seeing them grow is amazing, especially when you know that you helped them learn that specific task. Being able to see the progress in kids, and just being a part of the group helping the child is amazing. I love the whole experience. There has to be someone there to help these kids learn, grow, and prosper, and I am one of those people.
Related Hobbies and Interests
In my spare time I take care of my animals. I also like to do lots of outdoor activities. I volunteer at the Autism Advocates of Indiana every year. I am also in school part time to eventually get my master's in special education.
