Candace R. - Cincinnati Special Needs Caregiver

Profile of Candace R.

Full-Time, 7 Years of Experience

I feel comfortable caring for children with special needs. I am patient and caring. I have type I diabetes. I have an insulin pump, but for four years, I was taking injections. I am obviously familiar with how to test blood sugar, administer injections, carbohydrate counting, and what to do in case of a blood sugar emergency (as well as the signs that something could be wrong). I have been diabetic since I was 12. I also have a younger brother with type I diabetes, so I am also familiar with helping someone else with the condition. I also have taken four years of ASL, so I am very familiar with sign language. I would love to care for a deaf child. I know I could learn just as much from them, as they could from me.
