Erik B. - Boston Special Needs Caregiver

Profile of Erik B.

Full-Time, 5 Years of Experience

I have five years of experience working in a classroom setting for children with special needs. This population included Asperger's/autism spectrum, ADD, ADHD and social/emotional/behavioral problems. I am a compassionate, communicative and patient person.

I also have six years of experience working at a camp for children with diabetes. Gales Creek is a camp for children with diabetes. Because of the camper's needs, my job included working closely with counseling staff and medical personnel to ensure that all protocols pertaining to medical needs were strictly adhered to. I was also responsible for leading and supervising developmentally appropriate camp activities in a fun and safe environment. This included doing arts projects, skits, games, swimming, hikes, sports, and campfires with the campers.
Related Hobbies and Interests
Some of the activities I enjoy doing include bicycling, swimming, tennis, soccer, and hiking. I also love focused activities such as arts/crafts projects, reading, telling stories, sewing, and puzzles/games.
